Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026. By accessing TermMatrix.com, you agree to these terms.
Acceptance of terms
TermMatrix.com (“TermMatrix,” “we,” “us”) provides an online linguistic search engine and programmatic reference pages. Your use of the site constitutes acceptance of these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Service description
TermMatrix offers automated lookup tools including rhymes, near rhymes, synonyms, antonyms, definitions, anagrams, and related linguistic relationships. Results are generated from indexed dictionary data and algorithmic matching. The service is provided for creative, educational, and reference purposes.
Linguistic data disclaimer
Definitions, synonyms, phonetic keys, popularity scores, and related metadata are assembled from automated pipelines and open linguistic corpora. TermMatrix does not guarantee completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or suitability for any particular use—including legal, medical, or commercial decisions.
You acknowledge that programmatic linguistic output may contain errors, omissions, outdated senses, or imprecise rhyme groupings. Always verify critical usage independently.
Acceptable use
- Use the site for lawful personal, creative, or research purposes
- Respect rate limits and avoid actions that degrade service for others
- Do not attempt to bypass security, scrape beyond permitted crawling, or overload infrastructure
- Do not misrepresent TermMatrix output as human-authored authoritative reference without review
Search engine and bot crawling
TermMatrix publishes structured pages intended for discovery by search engines and AI crawlers. Automated agents may crawl public HTML routes and declared sitemaps in accordance with robots.txt and llms.txt.
Acceptable crawling parameters: honor crawl-delay and disallow rules; fetch sitemap-indexed URLs at reasonable concurrency; identify your bot via a truthful User-Agent; do not hammer API endpoints for bulk re-indexing when static ISR pages are available. Aggressive scraping that impairs Neon database performance or Vercel compute limits may result in blocking.
Intellectual property
The TermMatrix name, visual design, codebase, and original presentation are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party linguistic datasets remain subject to their respective licenses.
Open data attribution
Linguistic definitions and semantic metadata are sourced in part from Open English WordNet under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Additional phonetic data derives from the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary. Word frequency rankings derive from publicly available corpus statistics. Use of compiled TermMatrix datasets outside this site must comply with all upstream licenses.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TERMATRIX AND ITS OPERATORS PROVIDE THE SERVICE “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON AUTOMATED LINGUISTIC OUTPUT.
Changes and termination
We may modify these terms or discontinue features at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may suspend access for violations of these terms or abusive traffic patterns.
