Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026. This policy describes how TermMatrix.com collects and uses information when you use our linguistic search tools.
Overview
TermMatrix is a programmatic linguistic utility. We collect only the minimum data needed to operate the service, improve performance, and understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not sell personal information.
Information we collect
Usage and analytics. We may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics such as page views, query types selected, referrers, device type, and general geographic region. These metrics help us monitor reliability and improve the product. Analytics providers may set their own cookies or similar identifiers subject to their policies.
Local storage and cookies. TermMatrix stores certain preferences in your browser, including theme selection (light/dark mode) and workspace UI state (for example, notepad visibility). Autocomplete suggestions are served from a static local word list cached in your browser session; search terms you type are not uploaded for autocomplete.
Server logs. Our hosting infrastructure may log IP addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. Logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to build individual profiles.
How we use information
- Operate, secure, and maintain the website and API endpoints
- Measure performance and fix errors
- Understand aggregate demand for lookup tools and content
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
Third-party services
TermMatrix may be delivered through cloud hosting, database, and analytics providers. Those services process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. Dictionary content is compiled from licensed open-source linguistic datasets; see our Terms of Service for attribution requirements.
Your choices
You can disable cookies in your browser, though some UI preferences may reset. You may use private browsing modes to limit persistent local storage. For analytics opt-out, follow instructions provided by your analytics platform or browser extensions where applicable.
Children
TermMatrix is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
